These terms cover what you agree to when you order from PlateUp, browse the menu, or use the operations showcase. If anything looks unfair or out of date, write to us.

Acceptance

By placing an order, creating an account, or interacting with the operations showcase, you agree to these terms. If you disagree, the only step we ask of you is to stop using the site.

Use of the service

PlateUp is provided to you on the following basis:

  • You will provide accurate contact information when placing an order.
  • You will not attempt to disrupt, scrape, or reverse-engineer the system.
  • You will respect our staff, our other guests, and our delivery partners.
  • You will use the operations showcase as a demo, not as a production system, since data resets when you clear your browser.

Orders and payment

Prices on the menu are quoted in USD and include any taxes the law requires us to display inclusive. A summary of taxes and fees appears at checkout before you confirm.

We accept payment cards, mobile wallets, and cash for in-store pickup. Card details are processed by our payment provider, never stored on our servers.

Cancellations and refunds

You can cancel an order without charge until the kitchen begins preparing it, which typically takes one to three minutes after you confirm. After that, we are unable to issue a full refund because the food has already been started.

If something arrives wrong, cold, or late, write to us within twenty-four hours and we will make it right, usually with a refund or a replacement on your next visit.

Allergens and dietary information

Allergen tags on menu items are guidance, not certification. Our kitchen handles wheat, dairy, eggs, soy, and shellfish across shared surfaces. If you have a severe allergy, please call ahead at +1 (718) 555-0144 so the kitchen can prepare your dish on a clean surface and confirm ingredients with you directly.

Intellectual property

The PlateUp brand, menu copy, photography, and the design of this site are owned by us or by the developer who built the system. The source code that powers it is licensed for portfolio demonstration purposes and is not available for resale.

User conduct

You agree not to harass our staff over chat, phone, or in person, and not to abuse refund or cancellation policies. We reserve the right to refuse service or close accounts that repeatedly break these terms.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any single order is limited to the value of that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as missing a meeting because dinner was late.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New York. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by talking to us first will be heard in a court of competent jurisdiction in New York County.
